Coming soon to the Barossa Valley: A mid-century dream on the riverbank.

I am very excited to share a design preview of this residential project - a mid-century inspired family homestead nestled along the banks of the North Para River.

This project is a true design collaboration with the expert team at Tanunda-based Bartsch Builders, with construction officially poised to break ground in the coming months. Crafted for a client with a lifelong love for mid-century design, the architecture balances iconic retro principles with a luxurious, contemporary rural lifestyle.

The Details:

The Material Palette: A rich, highly tactile mix of crisp white rendered walls, charred shou sugi ban timber accents, and raw, random stone walling.

The Layout: Purpose-built for a growing family, featuring 4 bedrooms, dual living zones, dedicated music and creative studios, and expansive garage space.

The Living: A large, north-facing alfresco area meticulously oriented to capture the winter sun and watch the seasons paint the river landscape. I cannot wait to watch the team at Bartsch Builders bring this vision to life on-site.
