What services do you offer?

I provide a range of architectural design services, including feasibility studies, renovation consultations, residential and commercial projects, heritage restorations, and remote location designs.
Do I need an architect for my project?

It is always recommended to use an architect for any building project. Improved liveability, excellent thermal comfort and reduced operating costs, higher resale value, and peace of mind knowing that you have engaged an expert in their field to give you the best possible outcome.
How does the design process work?

Design is iterative. I will start with a concept design for your project, then adjust the design based on your feedback until you are happy with the result. My designs are prepared in both 2D (plans) and 3D (a computer model) to give you the clearest understanding of planning, form and materials. As the design process progresses more detail is added.
How long does the design process take?

Every project is different and of varying complexity. My projects will always move at a pace the client is comfortable with. Remember, it is always less expensive to move things on paper than to move things on site, so it is very wise to invest in the design process to ensure you are happy before committing to the build.
Do you handle planning permissions and building approval?

Yes, I can handle your project from the initial design concept through to the completion of the build process. I will prepare and lodge the required documents and reports with the assessing and approving authorities along the way and respond to their queries, keeping you updated throughout the entire process.
Can you help with sustainable or energy-efficient designs?

Yes, designing for environmental efficiency is responsible design. I will always consider the solar orientation and microclimate of your site (e.g local cooling breezes) to ensure your home can be as comfortable as possible throughout the year without relying on mechanical heating and cooling.
Do you work with builders and contractors?

Yes, I can align you with the appropriate builder or contractor for your project. Different projects require different builders, and it is important to ensure you have the right team delivering your project.
