Mylor Pool & Outdoor Area
Designing for established, sprawling family homes requires a deep respect for the existing landscape, coupled with forward-thinking structural and safety innovation. This project in Mylor, South Australia, transforms an expansive backyard into a premium, multi-tiered outdoor entertaining sanctuary that celebrates its natural surroundings.
The Design Highlights:
Elevated Entertainment: Structural random stone walling elevates the new timber-decked entertaining area, perfectly framing distant, uninterrupted views over the rolling Adelaide Hills.
Dual-Purpose Horizon Edge: The infinity-edge pool creates a seamless visual connection with the horizon while smartly doubling as the property's dedicated fire water storage source—a crucial asset for Adelaide Hills compliance.
Resilient Planting: Low Photinia hedging borders the space, selected specifically for its ability to withstand both heavy winter frosts and intense summer heatwaves.
Clean Lines & Hidden Details: The pool plant equipment is entirely concealed at one end behind a custom slatted enclosure, keeping the aesthetic minimal and uninterrupted.
A Grand Descent: Feature stone steps lead down to the sprawling lawns, anchored by two beautifully balanced, potted Cycads resting on structural pillars.
This project perfectly balances high-end residential luxury with regional bushfire resilience, proving that safety infrastructure can be seamlessly integrated into beautiful, high-end architecture.
